There’s a world of difference between book smarts and street smarts, between braininess and savvy. The first has its place for sure, but the second is, I believe, more useful.
Being smart (IQ) is the ability to logically think things out. Being sharp (EQ) is the ability to tune into the world, to read situations, and to survive. There has long been the debate of which serves you better, IQ or EQ. Yet, as technology shrinks our world, EQ has risen from being a whispered theory in psychology circles to the forefront of making our world a better place.
