...should never be forgot..
The sacrifice of the RFS (Rural Fire Service) and the indifference of Scott Morrison who was more concerned with jetting off on holiday than supporting his country and his people in a time of great need.
The artist said he was stirred into action by Mr Morrison’s “failure to act on climate change” and an absence of “leadership” during the nation’s ongoing bushfire crisis.
“It was a horrible idea for Scott Morrison to go to Hawaii and relax on a beach when he is supposed to be a leader and Australia is on fire,” Mr Marsh told The Australian newspaper.
“It’s actually quite infuriating when you hear stories about Rural Fire Service volunteers not having enough equipment and resources and the Prime Minister is on holiday.”
In the artwork, a smiling Mr Morrison is wearing an unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt, orange lei and Santa Claus hat while holding a cocktail. In the background, red flames rise high.
While some toadying government official ensured the art was painted over, it was too late to stop it from going viral. The artwork has now been immortalised in a tee shirt with all profits going to the RFS. If you want to buy the shirt you can find it at this website..
